What has become of Dominique Tapie?
In May 1987, the couple were officially married in Corfu, Greece. Dominique and Bernard had two children together, Laurent and Sophie, and maintained a close relationship with Bernard's children from his first marriage, Nathalie and Stéphane. Dominique supported her husband throughout his career, even during his imprisonment in 1997. After Bernard's release, the couple continued to lead a happy family life until the tragic discovery of Bernard's stomach cancer in 2017.
On October 3, 2021, Dominique lost her husband after a long battle with cancer. Today, she prefers to live discreetly, away from the media spotlight. She keeps to herself most of the time, and doesn't want to draw attention to her personal life.
Dominique expressed her dissatisfaction with the way the series distorted reality and presented the relationship between her and Bernard as that of the famous couple Bonnie and Clyde. According to her, this was done to bring an entertaining dynamic to the story. Sadly, Bernard left Dominique a fortune of 300 million euros on his death, but he also had debts amounting to 600 million euros. Today, Dominique lives on a pension of just 800 euros a month after selling everything.
