The Fall of the House of Usher: Where was it filmed?

Discover the filming locations of The Fall of the House of Usher on Netflix!

If you're curious about where The Fall of the House of Usher was filmed, read on! Since the release of The Haunting of Hill House in 2018, Mike Flanagan has been steadily creating an anthology of limited series on Netflix, with almost annual releases.

This time around, with The Fall of the House of Usher, which is probably his last collaboration with Netflix, Flanagan has created his most ambitious story to date. He tells a complex story that tackles topics such as AI and the opioid epidemic, all set in a gothic horror atmosphere.

Loosely adapted from the works of Edgar Allan Poe, The Fall of the House of Usher features Roderick Usher, the patriarch of a medical empire that made its fortune thanks to the opioid epidemic. At the start of the series, he finds himself in an old abandoned house to confess something to a local prosecutor: all his children are dead, and it's all his fault. But where was The Fall of the House of Usher filmed?

Where was The Fall of the House of Usher filmed?

The Fall of the House of Usher was filmed mainly in British Columbia, in western Canada, notably in various areas of Greater Vancouver. Principal photography began in January 2022 and continued for several months.

The cast and crew settled in Vancouver, the region's main city. In April 2022, they were spotted filming a few scenes at the Vancouver Art Gallery, located in the heart of downtown.

Part of Season 1 was filmed at Holy Rosary Cathedral, a 19th-century French Gothic Revival church in downtown Vancouver.

Burnaby, some 12-14 km from Vancouver, was also an important location for the series. The team used the services of The Bridge Studios, where more than a dozen scenes were recorded.

Most of the interior and exterior sequences were filmed at a property on 72nd Street in Ladner, Delta. This magnificent home serves as the Usher's haunted abode in the Netflix series.
