Explanation of the end of Tapie Season 1

Tapie devotes much of its entire running time to Bernard Tapie's family life, and it is to this family that the man has finally returned. Many years after the start of their relationship, Bernard proposed to Dominique in 1993, after Marseille's European title win.

At the end of Season 1 of Tapie, he wants to return to politics, wishing to become mayor of Marseille and then president of the French Republic, but Dominique, once again, disagrees. But the man's plans are completely turned upside down when the match-fixing affair against him is made public, and he is finally found guilty of the crime.

At the end of Season 1 of Tapie, Bernard Tapie had to spend eight long months in prison because of the public accusation, and during this time he became aware of his mistakes and decided to change his life. To find out if the film is inspired by a true story, read this.

At the end of Season 1 of Tapie, Dominique visits Bernard in prison and he apologizes for his actions. The wife forgives him because she truly understands the ambitious desires that drove her husband to commit the crime. He then expresses his wish to distance himself from politics, sport and business, and to retire to live surrounded by his family.

And so ends the story of a man who once wanted to reach the heavens, but had to settle for a domestic life.
