The story begins in modern-day London, where a detective sergeant named Shahara Hasan finds herself chasing a suspect at a far-right demonstration. During this pursuit, she discovers a body in Longharvest Lane. Next, we're transported to 1941, during the Second World War, when a detective receives a mysterious call inviting him to Longharvest Lane for an investigation. It's there that he discovers another body, in the pouring rain. And finally, we're transported back to 1890, in the Whitechapel district, where a detective is called to Longharvest Lane and discovers the same body, naked, with a bullet in his eye and a strange tattoo on his wrist.

Bodies filming locations on Netflix

Bodies was shot entirely in England, mainly in West Yorkshire, the East Riding of Yorkshire, South Yorkshire, London, Lincolnshire, York and Greater Manchester. Principal photography for the first season began in May 2022 and lasted five months, until October of the same year.

Much of the series was filmed in the ceremonial county of West Yorkshire, particularly in the city of Bradford. Lister Mills on Patent Street in Bradford was one of the main filming locations for the series. Other Bradford locations, such as Burnett Street and the Town Hall on Centenary Square, were also used for the historical scenes. The film crew also travelled to the town of Shipley, near Bradford, to film key scenes around Salts Mill in the Victorian village of Saltaire.

In addition to Bradford, some Bodies scenes were filmed in Leeds, notably at Versa Leeds Studios on Whitehall Road Car Park in Holbeck. Other parts of the series were filmed in the East Riding of Yorkshire, a county in the Yorkshire and Humber region of England. And of course, some of the filming took place in London, the capital of England and the United Kingdom.
