However, Satya Nadella, its usually reserved CEO, couldn't resist taking a dig at other industry players.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>\"We have the best model today... even with all the hype, a year later, GPT4 is better,\" Nadella said at a company event in Mumbai on Wednesday. \"We're waiting for the competition to arrive. It will come, I'm sure, but the fact is that we have the best LLM on the market.\"<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Nadella's rare wake-up call came as he presented Microsoft's increasingly powerful range of AI offerings to executives from some of India's largest companies. In a 35-minute keynote address, Nadella urged companies to start exploring ways of deploying AI to increase productivity and refine their products, while urging them not to lag behind.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<h2>India needs to focus on AI<\/h2>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>The Microsoft executive also urged India to step up its efforts and focus on AI. \"This new capability, AI, is going to have an impact on GDP,\" he said.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Born in India, Nadella said the South Asian country had already become the second largest talent base for AI developers on GitHub. Puneet Chandok, who left a senior position at AWS India last year to join Microsoft and head up the company's activities in India and South Asia, added: \"India is no longer just amazing. We're also credible. India is starting to dream big and to pursue that dream as if our lives depended on it.\"<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>The company also announced that it would be offering AI training opportunities to 2 million Indians living in smaller towns and villages by next year. \"I hope that consensus will emerge and that's what really helps, in a way, the spread of this technology,\" he said of socio-economic progress.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>\"This is the first time I've felt there's no gap between what's happening in India and the rest of the world.
